MTV Roadies XX: Double Cross awarded its champion, Kushal Tanwar, who fans lovingly called Gullu. The season was full with dramatic turns, emotional departures, and high-stakes battle. The underdog turned frontrunner from Gang Elvish won by using a mix of smart strategy, unbreakable will, and personal sacrifice that marked his journey.
A calm start
Gullu’s Roadies journey didn’t start in the public eye. He wasn’t the loudest or the strongest contestant. But his quick thinking and quiet concentration shone out. Elvish Yadav first picked up Gullu during the bidding round, and he showed potential early on. However, things took a turn for the worse in the middle of the season when he was removed in a difficult situation.
But, as is typical of Roadies, his narrative was far from over. Gullu came back into the program as a wildcard through Gang Gautam, showing that comebacks are often stronger than first impressions.

The Double Cross That Changed the Game
One of the most important and talked-about events of the season was when Gullu made the risky choice to betray Gautam Gulati and go back to his old commander, Elvish Yadav.
The move made both fans and contestants quite angry. Gautam publicly called Gullu a “disloyal” person and said the flip was a betrayal. But for Gullu, this wasn’t about being loyal to people; it was a planned move in a bigger scheme. He knew that teaming up with Gang Elvish would give him a better strategic edge in the end.
People who didn’t like it said it was selfish. People who liked it called it genius.

Giving Up in the Dark
Gullu’s journey was built on sacrifices that most people don’t see, in addition to bold movements and savvy relationships. He was willing to pull back and let other team members take the lead on certain assignments since he knew that the team’s success was more essential than being in the spotlight himself.
Gullu once gave up a winning prize, a phone call home, so that a colleague may talk to their family. This was a very emotional moment. In another case, he purposely took on the harder physical portions of a challenge so that a weaker team member could save their energy for a puzzle round.
These times didn’t make the news, but they established something much more lasting: trust, respect, and a staff that believed in him.

The End: A Race to the Top
The last challenge was very tense. Gullu fought Hartaaj Singh Gill from Gang Prince, and the last time they fought was only 32 seconds apart. Every step mattered, and Gullu’s attention and stamina provided him the very small edge he needed.
When Gullu discovered out he had won, he was very moved. I’ve only walked by myself thus far. There was no one there to help me or cheer me on. It was always a win or a loss for me.He pounded the trophy with his hands and yelled, “This is what makes this win real.

He is more than just a contestant to me. He is everything that Roadies are known for: fighting, setting fire and never giving up. Right from the beginning, I could tell he is good.
Gullu’s rise from underdog to champion is an excellent model for everyone who wants to be a Roadie. It shows that the game isn’t only about brute strength; it’s also about making decisions and timing.character, and sacrifice.
What will Gullu do next?
Gullu now has a world of opportunities ahead of him, including endorsements, reality TV appearances, and maybe even being a coach in future seasons. He won ₹10 lakhs and a new Hero Karizma bike.
But for now, he’s just savouring the moment—the win, the praise, and the respect he gained on the battlefield known as Roadies.
